If you know who a visitor is, you can name him here: Web-Stat will remember the visitor and display him by name next time he comes to your site. Note that this will only work as long as the visitor does not delete his cookies

If you know who is using this IP, you can name that person here: Web-Stat will remember the name and display it along with the IP in the future.

Note that naming an IP does not guarantee a visitor's identification because (1) a given visitor might change IP, for instance if he restarts his router or browses from a different location and (2) an IP might be shared among several people over time.

To recognize a visitor, you should probably use the 'name' function in the first column: it is cookie-based and will identify the visitor across all locations. The drawback is that if the user resets his cookies the identification is lost.

Naming an IP is essentially provided as a backup to the cookie-based method.

You can exclude up to 20 IPs. Visitors coming to your site from an excluded IP will not be recorded in your stats.
